New: The Login Method and Account Recovery

We’re excited to announce a new login method designed to protect your account from “profile takeover” attacks. This type of attack occurs when scammers trick admins into changing or adding contact information to a profile, which they then use to gain access to the account. With this update, we're hoping to add a ton of security to your Planning Center account.

Single Login Method

You, your staff, and your volunteers that access the “admin” side of Planning Center now use a single email or phone number to log in. For any user authorized to log into Planning Center, regardless of their permission level, you’ll find their login method at the top of their profile:

Not only does this reduce the risk of profile takeovers, this change also makes editing people’s contact information a much less risky task for your admins.

New Account Recovery Process

We’ve also created a whole new process for your admins to help people with common account access problems. If you have users who have completely lost access to their Planning Center account, this new system guides your administrators through the process of safely restoring their access.

You can access it using the “Provide help…” button next to their login. This account recovery process is designed around real-world scenarios we’ve seen time and time again.
